You’ll gain hands-on experience working with lights and accessories, learning to communicate clearly using industry terminology and apply safe practices. By the end, you’ll be confident in designing and executing basic lighting for a variety of school events and performances.

How You’ll Learn
- Comprehensive learner guide, video based resources
- Hands-on practice setting up and operating stage lighting, with equipment and in a venue you can access
- Experimenting with lighting techniques to enhance mood and focus in performances
Assessment Tasks
- Complete basic lighting tasks for at least two different productions
- complete tasks safely and according to instructions
- apply knowledge of key features and purpose of lighting equipment and accessories to work activities
- use lighting terminology correctly when communicating with others.
- Complete production documentation as required
- Complete quizzes to demonstrate your understanding
Duration
Depending on your level of existing skills and knowledge, we recommend that you allow 20 – 25 hours to complete this course. The course must be completed within 4 months of the enrolment date.
